This week's designer of the week is JJ, owner of the the fashion label FloralGlory. We really like how she explores different themes (see the outfits below) and manages to capture the essence of those themes beautifully. Do check out her fashion label, it's full of really well designed outfits.
What don’t we kick things off with you telling us about yourself?
Heey, my real names Jess, but i use JJ as almost a stage name, and i'm from England! I'm at sixth form and im studying Textiles, Art Psychology and photography,
How would you describe your sense of style?
Well, my sense of style is girly, but made my own, i love vintage clothes, and im always going to car boots and charity shops to find them! I love anything cute, like florals, cupcakes, and pastel colours.
Tell us a little about what you use Avenue7 for and why?
I love avenue 7, i can speak to people who share the same dreams as me, from all over the world, which you can't really do anywhere else! and I love creating the outfits, and i find it really rewarding when you receive all the comments and likes!
Tell us how you go about creating an outfit? Where do you get your inspiration from?
I like to create a story behind each outfit, I normally make up a character and include all of their characteristics with in it, I sometimes write a little story in the description of the outfit but they are normally quite metaphorical, because I like them to be a little mysterious, so you can interpret them in your own way.
What are your 3 favourite outfits on Avenue7 and why?
JJ: This was my first ever outfit that i faved, I was completely blown away by the colours, its just really stunning!
I also love this outfit, this is something I feel really passionate about, I personally think we should be allowed to express our own styles within our uniforms, I hate that we are made to blend in with the crowd,
JJ: I adore the colours in this outfit, this is the sort of outfit I would wear, i love the patterns on the dress.
What fashion trends are cool where you live now?
Well its just turning Autumn here, so every ones thinking coats and boots! I love faux fur coats with floral dresses, I think that looks really cool, I'm also loving the 1950's look with structured waists and big skirts, it always looks really stunning.
How did you come up with the name for your Fashion Label?
Well FloralGlory is a mix of two things I base alot of my outfits on; Flowers and the glory is kind of patriotic, I feel proud of where i am from, and i like to use union jack's whilst designing.
Any suggestions for things you would like to see on Avenue7 and shout outs to people?
I would love there to be more aspects of making your label more personalised, maybe being able to use your logo in outfits..? Um I wanna say Hi to Amal*, cos i spend alot of time of talking to her on here, and she's always lovely :)
What is your dream job? (This question was asked by last week’s featured designer Bianca!)
My dream job would be to have my own fashion brand, promoting my own style, that would be amazing!
