Avenue7 Intern about fashion and today's trends

Hey, lets talk about you. Who are you and where are you from?

Hi, my name is Kim, I’m 19 years old, from Germany and currently occupied at avenue7 as an Intern. Presently I’m living in London and it’s great to be here! I just gratuated from school and starting to study at the end of August in Germany. Untill then I want to experience the fashion scene in London and that’s how I came to avenue7.

Why did you want to do an internship at avenue7? Whats so special about it?

Thats easy. I love fashion! Avenue7 offers everyone the oppportunity to express oneself by creating outfits. Ist a simple, but good idea. I love working for avanue7. I’m dealing with fashion blogs and photo blogs all the time and it’s a lot of fun.

Tell us why you love fashion and where you get your inspiration from.

Fashion is what I feel. My philosophy is: It’s better to regret the things you wear, than regret things you didn’t wear. If you look good, you will feel good and your enviorment will notice that. An amazing outfit can give you so much self- esteem and charisma. I’m searching for inspiration mostly in magazines, such as the VOGUE or InStyle, but also at the street. There are so many stylish and good-looking people out here. Espacially in Notting Hill. It’s THE place to be for fashion victims.

Which fashion trends are cool?

Colour Blocking! Definately! Ist a must this summer. You can’t go shopping without seeing bright and neon -coloured trousers and skirts in the shops. Its my absolute favourite fashion trends this summer. A must have: a long neon coloured skirt ( got mine from topshop) and blue high wedges( perfect for going out in hot summer nights!)

What is your favourite brand and where do you like to go shopping?

I love Diesel. I love the Jeans and the Jackets, the fitting is amazing and I like the cool and casual shapes! Mannheim is one of the best places to go for shopping in Germany. I love all the shops and its a really nice city. But of cource it’s not comparable to London!!! London is like a fashion mekka I always dreamed of. One thing, I will definately miss when I’m back in germany, is TOPSHOP. They have such lovely clothes and the latest trends! If you want to be fashionable and stylish, go to Topshop! Another really great place for shopping is Westfields in West London. I’ve never seen a bigger mall. It’s like a paradise for woman. You will find shops like River Island, Topshop and Bershka but also luxurious brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton, so its defintely worth a visit!
